HomeMy WebLinkAboutFCS-17-048 - 2016 Statement of Remuneration and Expenses REPORT TO: Committee of the Whole DATE OF MEETING: March 20, 2017 SUBMITTED BY: Dan Chapman, DCAO of FCS and City Treasurer, (519) 741-2200 extension 7347 PREPARED BY: Lisa Dueck, Supervisor of Accounting, (519) 741-2200 extension 7659 WARD(S) INVOLVED: ALL DATE OF REPORT: March 3, 2017 REPORT NO.: FCS-17-048 SUBJECT: 2016 Statement of Remuneration and Expenses ___________________________________________________________________________ RECOMMENDATION: For information BACKGROUND: Section 284(1) of the Municipal Act provides that the Treasurer of a Municipality shall, in each year on or before March 31, provide to the Council of the Municipality an itemized statement on remuneration and expenses paid in the previous year to: (a) each member of council in respect of his or her services as a member of the council or any other body, including a local board, to which the member has been appointed by council or on which the member holds office by virtue of being a member of council; (b) each member of council in respect of his or her services as an officer or employee of the municipality or other body described in clause (a); and (c) each person, other than a member of council, appointed by the municipality to serve as a member of any body, including a local board, in respect of his or her services as a member of the body. REPORT: The detailed Statement of Remuneration and Expenses for the year 2016 is attached to this report. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: N/A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: INFORM -The 2016 Statement of Remuneration and Expenses report has been posted to the City’s website with the agenda in advance of the council / committee meeting and will be posted on the City of Kitchener’s Internet site.
