DR JUNE 21, 2017 AND AUGUST 9, 2017
_____________________________________________________________________________
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code
be granted to Reids Heritage Construction (RHC) at 286 Kingswood Dr., on June
21, 2017 and on August 9, 2017, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.
BACKGROUND:
Reids Heritage Construction (RHC) will be constructing a 5-storey apartment building
and are requesting a noise exemption.
REPORT:
RHC will be constructing a 5-storey apartment building at 286 Kingswood Drive. They
have scheduled dates for pouring, finishing and saw cutting the slab on grade for the
basement on June 21, 2017 and on the main floor on August 9, 2017.RHC is
requesting the exemption as a precaution in case they are required to work later in
order to complete the job; once a concrete pour is started, you are not able to stop and
RHC want to ensure that they are not in violation of the bylaw should this happen.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The recommendation of this report supports the achievement of the strategic
vision through the delivery of core service.
