SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION SAI BHAKTI DHAM FAMILY DAY AND 150th
ANNIVERSARY OF CANADA 1250 STRASBURG RD JULY 8,

RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to Sai Bhakti Dham for an outdoor event at 1250 Strasburg Rd between the hours
of 9:00am and 7pm on July 8, 2017.
BACKGROUND:

Sai Bhakti Dham is celebrating the 5
th
150 Birthday and will be hosting an outdoor event where everyone in the Community is
welcome on July 8, 2017 and are requesting a noise exemption.
REPORT:
The event will begin at 9:00am, the organizers are expecting a few hundred people that
will come and go throughout the day. There will be cultural programing including
dancing, singing, drama and speeches. Organizers will be providing entertainment for
children including small rides, miniputt, and a bouncy castle, there will also be free
vegetarian food and snacks available to the community members who attend. The
event will end by 7pm.

The recommendation of this report supports the achievement of the strategic
vision through the delivery of core service.
