CONFLICT OF INTEREST No conflict of interest was declared by any Member of the Board at this time. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Moved by Stewart Barclay, seconded by Domini Baldasaro Carried Unanimously APPROVAL OF MINUTES Moved by Ryan Lloyd -Craig, seconded by Stewart Barclay Carried Unanimously DOWNTOWN ZONING BY LAW REVIEW Natalie Goss from the City of Kitchener Planning department presented on the city's Comprehensive Review of the Zoning Bylaw (CROZBY) www.kitchener.ca/crozby Discussion was facilitated by Natalie Goss and Cory Bluhm. We looked at the proposed zoning changes for the downtown core, with an emphasis on • proposed permitted uses for properties with frontage on King St. • parking • bonusing of floor space ratio for development that includes desired community amenities It was suggested that we add this topic to the agenda for the fall town hall meeting. CANADA DAY We discussed plans for Canada Day. For next year, it was identified that we need to discuss: 1. How big do we want to grow the event? 2. Should we have an open process for contracting the licensed area for alcohol/VIP lounge IN CAMERA SESSION Moved by Stewart Barclay, seconded by Domini Baldasaro "That the Board move to an in -camera session to discuss a personnel issue." Moved by Ryan Lloyd -Craig, seconded by Paul Walman "Motion that the Board leave the in -camera session." Carried Unanimously Carried Unanimously BIA ACTIVITIES Linda Jutzi will provide an email update on BIA activities to promote services and businesses during LRT construction. • Social media 0 Print • TV/Radio We discussed the need to have better signage, bigger signage to direct people where to park, how to get there, and to promote our two hours of free parking. It was noted that Region of Waterloo staff want to limit the number of signs, but that the BIA wants to ensure we have sufficient signage to ensure we direct patrons to the downtown.
