DOWNTOWN ZONING BY LAW REVIEW
Natalie Goss from the City of Kitchener Planning department presented on the city's Comprehensive
Review of the Zoning Bylaw (CROZBY) www.kitchener.ca/crozby
Discussion was facilitated by Natalie Goss and Cory Bluhm.
We looked at the proposed zoning changes for the downtown core, with an emphasis on
• proposed permitted uses for properties with frontage on King St.
• parking
• bonusing of floor space ratio for development that includes desired community
amenities
It was suggested that we add this topic to the agenda for the fall town hall meeting.
CANADA DAY
We discussed plans for Canada Day.
For next year, it was identified that we need to discuss:
1. How big do we want to grow the event?
2. Should we have an open process for contracting the licensed area for alcohol/VIP lounge

We discussed the need to have better signage, bigger signage to direct people where to park, how to get
there, and to promote our two hours of free parking.
It was noted that Region of Waterloo staff want to limit the number of signs, but that the BIA wants to
ensure we have sufficient signage to ensure we direct patrons to the downtown.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Domini Baldasaro, seconded by Paul Walman.
"That the meeting adjourn." (10:35 a.m.)
