SUBJECT: NOISE EXEMPTION CONCORDIA CLUB CANADIAN STUDENT
LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 429 OTTAWA STREET SOUTH

RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be
granted to the Concordia Club for the Canadian Student Leadership Conference being
held at 429 Ottawa Street South,on Wednesday September 27,2017, as outlined in the
letter provided by Ruth Rajna, dated May 16, 2017 and attached to Report CSD-17-057.

The Waterloo Region District School Board has selected the Concordia Club for their 33 Annual

would like to host an event in their tent during the week of the Canadian Student Leadership
Conference, in order to have students experience German Heritage and Oktoberfest. They are
expecting 1500 students and advisors to attend and as part of the German Heritage evening they
will be having a live band playing music from 5pm to 12am (midnight) to entertain the attendees.
Staff have made arrangements to have an onsite contact person during the event to help
address any concerns that may arise.
ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN:
The recommendation of this report supports the achievement of the strategic vision
through the delivery of core service.
