BACKGROUND: Vista Crescent is a local roadway with primarily residential land use. In the summer of 2016, Vista Crescent underwent a full road reconstruction which narrowed its road width. Due to the reduction in road width, Transportation Services conducted a review of the existing on-street parking regulations on Vista Crescent to ensure that two-way traffic and emergency services would not be impeded. Currently, on-street parking is permittedon the both sides of Vista Crescent from Lakeside Drive to Lakeside Drivefor a maximum period of three consecutive hoursas outlined in the City of Kitchener Uniform Traffic By-law No. 2007-138. REPORT: The effective road width of Vista Crescent was found to be too narrow to accommodate two-way traffic as well as provide on-street parking on both sides of the roadway. As a result, Transportation Services recommended the removal of on-street parking along the entire outside curve (odd-numbered side) of Vista Crescent from Lakeside Drive to Lakeside Drive. *** This information is available in accessible formats upon request. *** Please call 519-741-2345 or TTY 1-866-969-9994 for assistance. 6 - 1 Residents of Vista Crescent were notified of the proposal to remove on-street parking along the outside curve of Vista Crescent through a notification letter mailed out in July 2017.
