That the Uniform Traffic Bylaw be amended accordingly. BACKGROUND: Udvari Crescent is a local roadway with primarily residential land use. Transportation Services received a request from a resident to review on-street parking regulations related to concerns brought up regarding safe two-way travel on the roadway. Currently, on-street parking is permitted on the both sides of Udvari Crescent from Highgate Road to Huck Crescentfor a maximum period of three consecutive hoursas outlined in the City of Kitchener Uniform Traffic By-law No. 2007-138. REPORT: The request received by Transportation Services cited unsafe two-way travel on the roadway during the peak travel times due to vehicles parking on both sides of the roadway through a curve of Udvari Crescent, just south of Highbarry Crescent. Residents of Udvari Crescent were surveyed regarding a proposal to remove on-street parking along the north/west (odd-numbered) side of Udvari Crescentfrom a point approximately 70 metres west of Highbarry Crescent to a point approximately 20 metres *** This information is available in accessible formats upon request. *** Please call 519-741-2345 or TTY 1-866-969-9994 for assistance. 2 - 1 west thereof. A survey letter was mailed out in August 2017.The results of the survey are as follows: Prohibit parking at any time on the north/west (odd-7votes (88% of 8votes) numbered) side of Udvari Crescent from a point approximately 70 metres westof Highbarry Crescent to a point approximately 20 metres west thereof. In favour of keeping the current regulations in 1votes(12% of 8votes) place: TOTAL: 8out of 16 responded (50% response rate) Based on the results of this survey, Transportation Services is recommending that parking be prohibited at anytime on the inside portion of this curved section of Udvari Crescent. ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN: vision through the delivery of a core service. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The approximate cost for implementingParking signage along Udvari Crescent is $250 and will be taken from the existing sign maintenance budget. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: INFORM This report has been posted to the ciadvance of the council / committee meeting. The citizens were made aware of the proposed changes to prohibit parking onUdvari Crescent through a mail out sent in August 2017. CONSULT Directly affected citizens were surveyed regarding this proposed parking regulation change in August 2017.
