HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil - 2018-01-08 SSPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 8, 2018 CITY OF KITCHENER A special meeting of City Council was held at 12:04 p.m. this date, chaired by Mayor B. Vrbanovic with all members present, except Councillors J, Gazzola and P. Singh. Notice of this meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code. 1. CSD -18-017 — DELEGATION OF SIGNING AUTHORITY — DISPATCH SERVICES AGREEMENTS Council considered Community Services Department report CSD -18-017 (D. Resendes) dated January 5, 2018, regarding delegation of authority for fire dispatch service agreements. Moved by Councillor K. Galloway-Sealock Seconded by Councillor B. loannidis "That the Chief Administrative Officer or a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to execute agreements with municipalities for the provision of fire dispatch services; said agreements to be to the satisfaction of the City Solicitor, as outlined in Community Services Department report CSD -18-017." Carried, 2. FCS -18-004 — APPOINTMENTS TO KITCHENER HOUSING INCORPORATED AND CENTRE IN THE SQUARE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS FOR 2018 TO 2020 Council considered Finance and Corporate Services Department report FCS -18-004 (C. Tarling) dated January 3, 2018, recommending various appointments to Kitchener Housing Inc. and the Centre in the Square Boards of Directors. Moved by Councillor B.loannidis Seconded by Councillor Z.Janeckt "That Filipe Mendes and Matt Ruetz be appointed to the Board of Directors for Kitchener Housing Incorporated for the term ending November 30, 2020; and, That Paul Salvini be re -appointed to the Board of Directors for Centre in the Square for the term ending December 31, 2020, as outlined in Finance and Corporate Services Department report FCS -18-004." Carried. 3. IN -CAMERA MEETING AUTHORIZATION Moved by Councillor Y. Fernandes Seconded by Councillor S. Davey "That an in -camera meeting of City Council be held immediately following this special meeting to consider a personal matter." Carried. 4. BY-LAWS FOR THREE READINGS Moved by Councillor Y. Fernandes Seconded by Councillor Z. Janeckt "That leave be given the Mover and Seconder to introduce the following by -taws for three readings and that the same be taken as read a first, second and third times, be finally passed and numbered serially by the Clerk.
