ARTS AND CULTURE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (ACAC) MINUTES
FEBRUARY 20, 2018 CITY OF KITCHENER
4.0 ACAC 2018 priorities: everyone
The members started with a review of the 2017 statement as a starting point for the
discussion:
o The work of ACAC is to amplify the voices of artists and arts organizations and
culture organizations to ensure their role in the community and economy is
valued and validated
Some of the ideas voiced during the discussion that followed include:
o Helpful to identify specific pillars or values for ACAC to have as guidance when
advising on projects
o Helpful to have a statement to remind members
o A lot of agreement between members that sharing more information from ACAC in
the community would be beneficial; how to be ambassadors?
o role in doing outreach into the community?
o Is there any room for mentorship?
o Perhaps invite others to come to ACAC, open house type of gathering
o
ACTION: Identify and share projects of interest from the corporate work plan
