OF THE
CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF KITCHENER
(Being a by-law to amend the Dog Designations By-law 2014-
142.)
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend By-law 2014-142;
AND WHEREAS the Kitchener -Waterloo North Waterloo Humane Society
has changed its name to The Animal Welfare Agency South Central Ontario;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kitchener
enacts as follows:
1. Section 1 of By-law 2014-142 is hereby amended by deleting the definition of
"animal services provider" and substituting the following therefor:
""animal services provider" means The Animal Welfare Agency South Central
Ontario which was formerly known as the Kitchener -Waterloo and North Waterloo
Humane Society and is still commonly referred to in the community as the "Humane
Society" and shall include its officers and employees."
2. Section 1 of By-law 2014-142 is hereby amended by deleting the definition of
"officer" and substituting the following therefor:
""officer" shall include a municipal law enforcement officer, a by-law officer, an
employee of the animal services provider, an agent or inspector appointed pursuant
to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.,
0.36, and a member of the Waterloo Regional Police Services."
3, Section 1 of By-law 2014-142 is hereby amended by deleting the definition of
"shelter facility" and substituting the following therefor. -

""shelter facility" shall mean the animal shelter operated by the animal services
provider."
4. By-law 2014-142 is hereby added by inserting the following section thereto:
"56. The Clerk of the City is hereby directed to make this by-law a part of The
City of Kitchener Municipal Code by adding it to the Concordance and arranging
and numbering it as Chapter 531 so as to fit within the scheme of the Code."
