Overview
The Ontario Bike Summit is the premier cycling conference in Ontario. The summit
provides a forum for cycling stakeholders to be inspired by best practices from across
Ontario and beyond and to gain the practical skills necessary to act on that inspiration.
Learn from and network with professionals and volunteers from a diverse range of
sectors, including: provincial and municipal government, grassroots advocacy, health,
planning, engineering, tourism and more.
DATE: April 1 & 2, 2019
LOCATION: Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Downtown
Expectations of Committee
Last year one member of the committee attended the event along with staff. We would
like to extend that invitation again this year and will ask that members consider their
desire to attend. Names of those interested will be put into a hat and one member will
be randomly selected to attend. Registration for the event will be covered by the City but
all other costs will be the responsibility of the committee member. If you are unable to
attend the committee meeting but would like to attend the event, please let staff know
th
before February 12, so your name can be included in the draw.

Subject: Cycling & Trails Master Plan Community Working Group
Overview
Staff will provide an overview of the process for creating a new Cycling and Trails
Master Plan.
In addition, a community working group of appointed stakeholders and community
volunteers will work together to guide the creation of the Cycling and Trails Master Plan.
Together, we’ll engage the community, identify challenges and opportunities, advise
consultants on routes and infrastructure improvements and develop key
recommendations for city council consideration.
KCTAC has been identified as a key stakeholder that will have one representative on
the community working group.
The community working group will meet monthly for approximately fourteen months,
until the Cycling and Trails Master Plan has been presented to City Council.
Expectations of Committee
Committee members are asked to consider if they would like to volunteer on the
Community Working Group, serving as the liaison between KCTAC and the Community
Working Group.
