Driver - Chair Messrs. D. Bailey, J. Gaudon, J. Jackson, P. Robert, and Ms. T. Belanger, Ms. T. Davidson, Ms. C. Gaetani, Ms. K. Fellows, Ms. A. Gingrich Regehr and Ms. E. Waslander. Staff: B. Sloan, Manager, Long Range & Policy Planning B. Steiner, Senior Environmental Planner C. Musselman, Senior Environmental Planner J. Rodrigues, Committee Administrator 1. WELCOME AND COMMITTEE MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS Ms. B. Steiner welcomed members to the Environmental inaugural meeting of the 2017/2018 term. Each member was requested to introduce themselves and state their interest In applying to the Committee. 2. PRESENTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & RELATIONSHIPS City of Kitchener. She pointed out as an Advisory Committee of Council, the Environmental Committee is responsible for promoting the protection, maintenance and enhancement of the Environment. Members interested in bringing forward i should ensure it falls within the mandate of the Committee as set out in its Terms of Reference and is within the jurisdiction of the City. 3. COMMITTEE ORIENTATION ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE MANDATE AND CORPORATE VISION The Committee reviewed Council Policy Resolution I- and led the Committee in a review of the materials noting they were circulated via email prior to the meeting this date. Members were requested to review all of the reference materials, noting they will be circulated via email. 4. ELECTION OF COMMITTEE CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR Ms. J. Rodrigues opened the floor to nominations for the position of committee chair. Ms. T. Driver was nominated and agreed to stand for appointment. No further nominations were forthcoming. On motion by Mr. J. Jackson It was resolved: r, be appointed Chair of the Environmental Committee for a term expiring November 30, 2020 Ms. T. Driver then opened the floor to nominations for the position of Vice-Chair. Ms. A. Gingrich Regehr and Ms. C. Gaetani were nominated. Ms. C. Gaetani declined to stand for appointment. No further nominations were forthcoming, Ms. A. Gingrich Regehr was selected as Vice-Chair. On motion by Mr. J. Jackson It was resolved: Gingrich Regehr, be appointed Vice-Chair of the Environmental Committee ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE MINUTES JANUARY 17, 2019 - 2 - CITY OF KITCHENER 5. SELECTION OF THE 2019 CEIG SUB COMMITTEE Community Environmental Improvement Grant (CEIG) - Sub Committee Informationdated January 17, 2019, outlining the CEIG program and timeline. Ms. C. Musselman is seeking two to three committee members to form the CEIG Sub Committee. In response to questions from the Committee, Ms. C. Musselman confirmed the applications are open as of January 17, 2019 and the deadline for applications is late February 2019. The CEIG Sub Committee will consider applications in early March. Ms. K. Fellows, Mr. J. Gaudon, and Ms. C.Gaetani were nominated and agreed to stand for appointment to the CEIG Sub Committee. No other nominations were forthcoming. Ms. K. Fellows, Mr. J. Gaudon, and Ms. C. Gaetani were selected as the CEIG Sub Committee. 6. ADJOURNMENT On motion, this meeting adjourned at 5:14 p.m. Cody Boomer Committee Administrator
