at 4 p.m.
Present: Mr. D. Witmer, Ms. A. Monteith, Mr. G. Albert,
Ms. A. Venner, Ms. B. Wilson, Ms. J. Legg
Staff: M. Hildebrand, Director, Neighbourhood Programs
L. Palubeski, Manager, Program and Resource Services
J. McKenzie, Administrative Coordinator, Program & Resource Services
1. USB/Binders
The committee decided on no more hard copies of minutes/agendas printed for the meetings or
sent via Canada Post. USB chosen has the means of storing committee information. Ms. J.
McKenzie will bring to next meeting for each committee member.
2. Budget
Mr. M. Hildebrand shared with the committee the budget for 2019. Two things in the past where
money allocated:
i. $4000-$6000 for Inclusion and belonging grants
ii. $2000 set aside for Little Libraries.
After the committee develops a new work plan, the committee can then decide on how to best
utilize the budget money. Therefore, monies do not necessarily need allocation to the Inclusion
and Belonging grants or the Little Libraries.
3. Inclusion and Belonging Grant
The Safe and Healthy Community Advisory Committee will make one-year cash grants to one-
time projects, initiatives or events that support inclusion and/or belonging within Kitchener
neighbourhoods. Criteria shared with the committee to help understand the parameters
regarding purpose and approvals of the grants.
4. Volunteer Paperwork
Oath of Confidentiality and Volunteer Waivers handed out and committee members asked to
read over and sign. AODA training instructed by Ms. L. Palubeski
5. Survey Results/Work plan
Survey results from the new committee shared and discussed in order to come up with a new
work plan for this term.
Ms. J. McKenzie will send survey results out with minutes. Mr. M. Hildebrand to put together
discussion notes and bring back to next meeting. Homework for the committee.
1. Are there any themes missing?
2. What is being done and who is doing it? (Mr. M. Hildebrand to put together City of
Kitchener work).
