3. Forming a Subcommittee for Bike Lane Pilot Opening
From: Matt Rodrigues, KCTAC Chair
Overview
In an effort to promote and celebrate the opening of the new Queen and Belmont Bike
Lane Pilot, a subcommittee (of no more than 4 people) should be formed to brainstorm
and plan for a launch event. The event would aim to include: community members, area
residents, local politicians, local media, and cycling advocates - amongst others. The
subcommittee would work with the City's Pilot Project team to determine the appropriate
time for the event given anticipated construction period and other timing considerations.
This subcommittee could also work on similar projects for future new infrastructure
openings (i.e., Young & Duke Streets).
The subcommittee would report back to the committee with a finalized plan for the
event.
Kitchener Cycling and Trails Advisory Committee May 14, 2019
Expectations of Committee
All those interested in participating in this subcommittee should express their interest.
The subcommittee members would meet outside of the monthly KCTAC meetings at a
time/date to be determined by the subcommittee, and must not meet or exceed the
committee's quorum.
