HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Minutes - 1997-10-20 SCOUNCIL\1997-10-20-SPE OCTOBER 20, 1997 SPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES CITY OF KITCHENER A special meeting of City Council was held at 12:20 p.m. this date and Chaired by Mayor R. Christy, with all members present, except Councillor M. Wagner. Notice of this special meeting had previously been given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code. Moved by Councillor C. Weylie Seconded by Councillor M. Yantzi "That an in-camera meeting of City Council be held immediately following recess of this special meeting to consider a matter subject to solicitor-client privilege and a land acquisition matter." Carried. The Council meeting was then recessed at 12:22 p.m. to allow Council to deal with the matters on its in- camera agenda and was reconvened at 5:05 p.m. this date immediately following the Planning and Economic Development Committee meeting. This portion of the special Council meeting was Chaired by Councillor K. Taylor-Harrison, Acting Mayor, with all members present except Mayor R. Christy and Councillors J. Ziegler and G. Lorentz. Moved by Councillor C. Weylie Seconded by Councillor M. Yantzi "That the report of the Planning and Economic Development Committee of Council of this date be adopted." Moved by Councillor T. Galloway Seconded by Councillor B. Vrbanovic Carried. "That leave be given the Mover and Seconder to introduce the following by-laws for three readings this date: Being a by-law to amend By-law 85-1, as amended, known as the Zoning By-law for the City of Kitchener - Baljit Grewal - Doon Village Road - No.97/23/D/JW (By-law No. 97-168) (a) (By-law No. 97-169) (b) A by-law to confirm all actions and proceedings of the Council. and that the same be taken as read a first, second and third times, be finally passed and numbered serially by the Clerk." On motion the meeting adjourned at 5:10 p.m. Carried. MAYOR CLERK COUNCIL MINUTES OCTOBER 20, 1997 - 530 - CITY OF KITCHENER REPORT ADOPTED BY COUNCIL PLANNING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE - That Zone Change Application ZC 97/23/D/JW (B. Grewal) rezoning 953 Doon Village Road from R-2 (Residential Two Zone) to R-2D (Residential Two D Zone), be approved in the form shown in the attached "Proposed By-law", dated September 30, 1997, without conditions. It is the opinion of this Committee that approval of this application is proper planning for the City and is in conformity with the City's Municipal Plan.
