Subcommittee updates (15 min) 7. Housekeeping (5 min) COMMITTEE ADMINISTRATORS  Darren Kropf  Liz Christensen  Lisa Chominiec Kitchener Cycling and Trails Advisory Committee 1. Bikefest review From: Darren Kropf, Active Transportation Overview A review of Bikefest has been concluded, including previous discussion by this committee at the June meeting. Staff will provide a brief report on the review’s finding and recommendations for moving forward. Expectations of Committee The committee is encouraged to ask questions of the review and conclusions, as well as indicate if they are in support of the recommendations. The committee is asked to consider what role they would like to play in future iterations of Bike Fest. 2. Separated bike lanes pilot update and evaluation From: Lisa Chominiec, Active Transportation Overview The new separated bike lanes on Belmont Avenue, Queen Street and Water Street are almost complete! This presentation is to provide an update on the project, what still needs to be completed, and any future plans for engagement and data collection. Expectations of Committee The committee is asked to brainstorm ideas for survey outreach and consider if they are willing to volunteer for any outreach activities (intercept surveys, spring/summer bike ride etc.). 3. Iron Horse Trail celebration From: Darren Kropf, Active Transportation Overview Significant investments in the Iron Horse Trail are continuing through the fall, with most work scheduled to be completed in spring 2020. A ribbon cutting/celebration event can further promote use of this trail and thank everyone involved in making it happen. Expectations of Committee The committee is asked to brainstorm some initial ideas for an event in the spring and consider if they are willing to volunteer on a subcommittee for further planning over the winter. IMPAcT report From: Emily Slofstra, Victoria Hand, committee members Overview The Intermunicipal Partnership for Active Transportation (IMPAcT) consists of representatives from the municipalities and region, Public Health, universities and colleges, school transportation services, police, ministry of transportation (province), Canadian Automobile Association, Sustainable Waterloo Region, and Explore Waterloo Region (tourism). IMPAcT hosted an Active Transportation forum on Wednesday September 25. The purpose of the forum was bring together different audiences that are involved in active transportation through roundtable discussions, with the goal to get stakeholder feedback on potential IMPAcT campaigns and initiatives. Several committee members and staff attended and will share what they experienced. Expectations of Committee Committee members are encouraged to ask questions of those who attended the forum and provide further comments on the content discussed. 5. Drop Mobility bikeshare update From: Lisa Chominiec, Active Transportation Overview The Dropbike pilot will be wrapping up soon. A brief presentation on the Dropbike pilot so far, with a look at the usage and data collected. Expectations of Committee The committee is encouraged to fill out the Dropbike survey and share their thoughts on the pilot.
