The property owner will need to agree to enter into an encroachment agreement to allow for this. At the initial time of the application, two existing projecting signs have already been erected at adjoining properties, and concernswere raised of a third sign causing obstruction of the view of the architecture. However, one of the existing signs had neither the correct permit nor an encroachment agreement in place; the applicant reached out to the owner of the offending sign, and had them agree to take it down. As a result, City Staff are now satisfied that the façade will not be majorly obscured if the applicant is allowed to put up their own sign and are in support of the application. Zayo Group also raised a concern about their infrastructure in that area, however it is buried below ground and will not be impacted by the installation of the sign. No other concerns were raised beyond the now-resolved heritageand utility issues. ALIGNMENT WITH CITY OF KITCHENER STRATEGIC PLAN: The recommendation outlined in this report supports the achievement of the City’s strategic vision through the delivery of core service. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: All fees associated with encroachments will be paid by the applicant. The Applicationfee of $285.61has been paid. A processing fee of $240plus disbursementswill become payable ifCouncil approvalis granted.
