Vrbanovic with all members present. Notice of this meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code. 1.2020 COUNCIL MEMBERS’ APPOINTMENTS TO COMMITTEES / BOARDS Council considered Council members’ appointments to various boards and committees for 2020. Council considered the appointment of the Chairs and Vice-Chairs to the Standing Committee of Council using the approved nomination and voting procedures. The appointmentsas approved are attached to, and form part of these minutes. The following were nominated for Chair of the Community and Infrastructure Services Committee: Councillors K. Galloway-Sealock and J. Gazzola. Councillor K. Galloway-Sealock was appointed as Chair. The following were nominated for Vice-Chair of the Community and Infrastructure Services Committee: Councillors D. Schnider and J. Gazzola. Councillor D. Schniderwas appointed as Vice-Chair. The following were nominated for Chair of the Finance and Corporate Services Committee: Councillors S. Davey and J. Gazzola. Councillor S. Davey was appointed as Chair. The following were nominated for Vice-Chair of the Finance and Corporate Services Committee: Councillor J. Gazzola. Councillor J. Gazzolawas appointed as Vice-Chair. The following were nominated for Chair of the Planning and Strategic Initiatives Committee: Councillors S. Marsh. Councillor S. Marshwas appointed as Chair. The following member was appointed to the Grand River Hospital -Board of Trustees: Councillor P. Singh. The following member was appointed to the Homer Watson House Foundation: Councillor C. Michaud. The following member was appointed to the Horticultural Society -Kitchener -Board of Directors: Councillor M. Johnston. The following were nominated for the Huron Natural Joint Ventures Committee: Councillors K. Galloway-Sealock, B. Ioannidis and C. Michaud. Councillors K. Galloway-Sealock and C. Michaudwere appointed to the Committee. The following member was appointed tothe Kitchener In Bloom Committee: Councillor P. Singh. The following were nominated to the Kitchener Power Corporation Board ofDirectors: Councillors S. Davey,S. Marsh, J. Gazzola and C. Michaud. Councillors S. Davey and S. Marsh were appointed to the Kitchener Power Corporation Board of Directors for a term from June 1, 2020-May 31, 2021. The following member was appointed to the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery -Board of Directors: Councillor S. Marsh. The following member was appointed tothe Multicultural Centre of K-W Board of Directors: Councillor D. Chapman SPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES DECEMBER 16, 2019-193-CITY OF KITCHENER The following memberswerenominated for the Oktoberfest Inc. Advisory Council -K-W: Councillors C. Michaud, M. Johnston and D. Schnider. Councillors C. Michaud and D. Schnider were appointed to the Council. The following member was appointed to the Wilfred Laurier University –Board of Governors: Mayor B. Vrbanovic. Councillor K. Galloway-Sealock informed Council that due to a schedulingconflictshe was unable to sit on the Environmental Advisory Committee for the remainderor her appointment (expiringNovember 30,2020). The following members were appointed to the Environmental Advisory Committee: Councillor M. Johnston (December 2019 –March 2020) and D. Chapman (April –November 2020). Mayor B. Vrbanovic suggested that Corporate Services Department report COR-19-049- Appointments to Economic Development Advisory Committee, and Centre in the Square, and Kitchener Power Corporate Boards, listed as Item B.2 on the Committee of the Whole agenda this date, be considered at Special Council, also this date. Moved by Councillor K. Galloway-Sealock Seconded by Councillor D. Schnider “That in accordance with Section 25.7.14 of City of Kitchener Municipal Code Chapter 25 (Procedure) the notice requirements be waived to add report COR-19-049 – Appointments to Economic Development Advisory Committee, and Centre in the Square, and Kitchener Power Corporate Boards,to the Special Council agenda this date.” Carried. Council considered Corporate Services Department report COR-19-049(C. Tarling), dated December 12,2019, regarding appointments to theEconomic Development Advisory Committee, and Centre in the Square, and Kitchener Power Corporate Boards. Moved by Councillor K. Galloway-Sealock Seconded by Councillor S. Davey “That Barb Blundonand Dan Carli be appointed to the Board of Directors for Centre in the Square for the term starting December 1, 2019 and ending November 30, 2022; and, That Jonathan Weber be appointed to the Board of Directors for Centre in the Square for the term starting January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2022; and, That James Phillips and Rosa Lupo be re-appointed to the Board of Directors for Kitchener Power Corporation for the term starting June 1, 2020 and ending May 31, 2021; and finally, That Paul Kreutnerbe appointed to the Economic Development Advisory Committee as the Manufacturing Sector representative for the term ending November 30, 2020.” Carried. 2.IN-CAMERA MEETING AUTHORIZATION Moved by Councillor K. Galloway-Sealock Seconded by Councillor S. Davey “That an in-camera meeting of City Council be held immediately following this special meeting to consider two land acquisition/disposition matters, one of which is also related to negotiation strategy/instruction, and a personal matter.” Carried.
