Due to COVID-19 and recommendations by Waterloo Region Public Health to exercise physical
distancing, City Hall is closed to the public. Members of public are invited to view this meeting
electronically by contacting the Committee Administrator. While in-person delegation requests
are not feasible at this time, written comments may be submitted, and electronic participation
can be facilitated by contacting Darren Kropf at Darren.kropf@kitchener.ca. Delegates must
register by 4:00 p.m. on the business day prior to the meeting in order to participate
electronically. Written comments will be circulated prior to the meeting and will form part of
the public record.

1. Trails Streetview

Overview
Kitchener Parks department has hired a summer student to bike our multi-use trails that
are winter maintained to capture trail footage to be added to google streetview.

2. Traynor Trail update

Overview
Staff will provide an update on the delay for the construction of Traynor Ave Trail.

3. Downtown Cycling Grid opening event
From: Events & Promotions subcommittee
Overview
Some portions of the Downtown Cycling Grid are expected to open this fall. As a high-
profile project for City Council, it is important to recognize and celebrate the opening of
this project. The Events & Promotions subcommittee has considered ideas for an
opening event. All planning is subject to public health protocols.

4. Fall promotions

Overview
With pandemic restrictions easing, there may be opportunities to do outreach and
promotion in the fall.

leading this fall?
5. Bike parking resources

Overview
Businesses and shop owners often wish to offer bike parking of some scale to
customers; however, the process, responsibilities, and ways to purchase bike parking
racks is not always clear.
Expectations of Committee
Committee members are asked to brainstorm resources that could be shared on the
Bike Kitchener website for interested businesses and shop owners to learn about
different types of bike parking and resources available to them.
6. August bike ride
From: Events & Promotions subcommittee
Overview
At June’s meeting, the committee agreed to do a social bike ride in August (pending
public health protocols). The subcommittee will take the lead in planning the gathering.

City staff will provide updates on a variety of projects underway.
