Community events From: Caleb DeGroot-Maggetti, GroundUP WR Maria Legault, Climate Action WR Overview There are upcoming cycling events being organized by the community, including monthly community bike rides (Caleb DeGroot-Maggetti, GroundUP WR) and equity in active transportation (Maria Legault, Climate Action WR). Typically, there is a Winter Bike to Work Day event on February 12. Expectations of Committee For information and discussion. 2. Mid-term check-in From: Matt Rodrigues, committee chair Overview One year has passed in the committee’s current term. Now is a good time to review the workplan that was developed by the committee and see if any new items are desired, or how the committee can prioritize its efforts in 2022.. Expectations of Committee For discussion:  What have you most enjoyed thus far?  What items on the workplan need further discussion/action?  What items are you interested in bringing forward, learning more about, or discussing with the Committee in 2022?  How can the existing sub-committees continue to support this work? 3. Cycling dashboard/progress report From: David Trueman, Cycle WR and Darren Kropf, city staff Overview CycleWR put a proposal to city council and staff for a cycling dashboard or progress report to provide transparent, public updates of progress toward goals. This is in line with the adage “if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.” Examples of data that might be presented would be:  Budget and spend  Kilometres of completed All Ages and Abilities (AAA) infrastructure  Longest connected route via AAA infrastructure Kitchener Active Transportation and Trails Advisory Committee  Number of cross-rides completed  Top priority hotfixes suggested and completed  Etc. The last report similar to this proposal was produced by staff in 2016, called Cycling in Kitchener: The 2016 Experience. The cycling dashboard could provide an update to that report, as well as incorporate new items. Expectations of Committee Brainstorming exercise:  Who would be the target audience for this type of dashboard/report?  What type of information would you want to see?  What format would you prefer?  Who would like to be involved in further discussions? 4. Subcommittee updates Overview All subcommittees are encouraged to provide an update on their discussions and actions since our last meeting. Expectations of Committee For information and discussion. 5. Staff updates From: Darren Kropf, Liz Christensen, Ivan Balaban, city staff Overview City staff will provide updates on a variety of projects underway. Expectations of Committee For information.
