Nagawo, S.Kibaalya, C. Michaud K. Galloway-Sealock, C. Kidd-Chubb, Vice Chair, M. Schnittke, G. Achim, L. Campbell Staff: M. Hildebrand, Director, Neighbourhood Programs and Services L. Palubeski, Manager Program and Resource Services J. McKenzie, Administrative Coordinator, Program and Resource Services Delegations NIL Discussion Items 1 . Committee Member update A. Monteith has resigned due to moving. A thank you card will be sent on behalf of the committee. 2. Development & Implementation of the Equity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism Policy Presentation, Elin Moorlag Silk Background and Development The Mayor's Task Force on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion committee was formed and resulted in the following: o Creation of a corporate Equity & Anti-Racism Strategy o Eight working groups focused on specific bodies of work o One of the eight working groups was to tasked work on a policy Objective of the Policy Working Group To develop an Equity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism Policy which outlines the corporate commitment to equity, inclusion and anti-racism and specific expectations for leadership, staff, and volunteers to support this commitment Steps o Commitment from the Corporation o Operational izing the Commitment from the Corporation o Application of the Policy o Monitoring & Accountability Comments/Questions o Unconscious bias training is a great idea for staff at the City of Kitchener, may take time to implement Accessible formats and communication supports are available upon request. If you require assistance to take part in a city meeting or event, please call 519-741-2345 or TTY 1-866-969-9994. o Indigenous Reconciliation may fit better as a separate entity on its own in the policy. It is distinct and will continue to be distinct but will be kept together in the policy, in the development stage 3.
