1 . Committee Member update
A. Monteith has resigned due to moving. A thank you card will be sent on
behalf of the committee.
2. Development & Implementation of the Equity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism
Policy Presentation, Elin Moorlag Silk
Background and Development
The Mayor's Task Force on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion committee was
formed and resulted in the following:
o Creation of a corporate Equity & Anti-Racism Strategy
o Eight working groups focused on specific bodies of work
o One of the eight working groups was to tasked work on a policy
Objective of the Policy Working Group
To develop an Equity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism Policy which outlines the
corporate commitment to equity, inclusion and anti-racism and specific
expectations for leadership, staff, and volunteers to support this commitment
Steps
o Commitment from the Corporation
o Operational izing the Commitment from the Corporation
o Application of the Policy
o Monitoring & Accountability
Comments/Questions
o Unconscious bias training is a great idea for staff at the City of Kitchener,
may take time to implement
Accessible formats and communication supports are available upon request. If you require assistance to take

o Indigenous Reconciliation may fit better as a separate entity on its own
in the policy. It is distinct and will continue to be distinct but will be kept
together in the policy, in the development stage
