Information Items
As a committee, there is a requirement to officially appoint the Co-Chairs. In the appointment method,a
Memberputs forward a motion "I move that we appoint Member _________ to serve as a Co-Chair of the
Equity and Anti-Racism Advisory Committee for a 9 monthperiod". The Clerk would ask the Member if they
are willing to have their name stand for the role of the Chair. If they indicate support to have their name stand,
the Clerk would ask if there is a seconder for the motion to appoint. If there is a seconder, the Clerk would ask
for debate/discussion on the motion. If none, would call the question and take the vote. If the majority vote in
favour, the motion and appointment is carried. The process would be the same for Co-Chair.
