Ryan, Manager of Service Co-ordination & Improvement — INS S. Tavernor, Sustainability Office Associate V. Lafave, Youth Services Coordinator 1. WELCOME AND OPENING REMARKS Ms. J. Stephens -Wells welcomed attendees to the All -Advisory Committee meeting and provided opening remarks outlining the work of Compass Kitchener on the new Strategic Plan and the purpose for this gathering of advisory committee citizen representatives. 2. PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT HIGHLIGHTS Ms. A. Fritz -Walters introduced the various tactics which were utilized to engage with the public and spoke briefly regarding the success of each. The tactics utilized were: Environics telephone survey, Engage WR page, Street Teams, Neighbourhood Focus Groups and input from the Compass Kitchener Advisory Committee. 3. 20 -YEAR VISION FOR CITY OF KITCHENER Ms. A. Fritz -Walters then addressed community input received regarding the question of citizens' visions for the municipality in 2042. Meeting attendees were advised they would be participating in a break-out room session to share their ideas regarding what Kitchener could be like in 2042 and share thoughts on what could change for the better for the benefit of future generations. The break-out rooms were facilitated with detailed notes taken on the input provided. This input will be used to develop a draft 20 -year vision to present to City Council. 4. COMMUNITY PRIORITIES — REFINEMENT ACTIVITY Following reconvening as a large group, attendees were advised of a second break-out room activity focusing on refining the key emerging community priorities as gathered from the various engagement opportunities to date. The emerging priorities to date are: • Belonging, connection affordable/free; • Housing affordability; • Environmental sustainability; • Support for newcomers; • Welcoming and inclusive community; • How we move around the city; 4. In order to refine this list of community priorities, attendees participated in a second exercise for group discussion around the following questions: 1. what do you like or agree with? 2. what is missing? 3. what would you change? 5. WRAP-UP AND NEXT STEPS Ms. J. Stephens -Wells thanked members of the various advisory committees for participating in this session and sharing their valuable input. She advised of the planned schedule of next steps in the development of the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan as follows: • Development of goals and actions — November — April timeframe. This will be undertaken using a different method than in the past. Goals and actions will be drafted by a group of staff working together with Compass Kitchener members as well as a soon-to-be established Resident Panel • Draft Strategic Plan circulated via Engage Page and to priority groups for further comment — Spring 2023 • Final Council Approval — June 2023. 6.
