Blake, Committee Administrator, Legislated Services 1. WELCOME AND COMMITTEE MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS N. Goss and S. Tavenor welcomed members to the Climate Change and Environment Committee inaugural meeting of the 2023 term. Each member was requested to introduce themselves and state their interest in applying to the committee. 2. CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE TERMS OF REFERENCE The Committee was provided the Council Policy No: GOV-BOA-100 entitled Climate Change and Environment Committee – Terms of Reference. N. Goss gave a summary of the recent review of the policy and requested the Committee review the document attached in the agenda package and advised there will be a more detailed review of the Terms of Reference in the January 2023 meeting. 3. ORIENTATION AND PROCEDURAL TRAINING D. Saunderson gave the Committee a presentation entitled 2022-2023 Advisory Committee Training, which outlined Advisory Committee roles, responsibilities, reporting structure, code of conduct, conflicts of interest and relationships in relation to the overall corporate context of the City of Kitchener. 4. ELECTION – CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR This item was deferred until the meeting scheduled for Thursday January 19, 2023. 5. CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING DATE – MARCH 2023 S. Lodenquai advised the Committee that the scheduled date for March 16, 2023, meeting takes place across the March Break week. The option of postponing the meeting by one week to take place on Thursday March 23, 2022, was tabled. On motion by B. Wallis – It was resolved: “That the meeting scheduled for Thursday March 16, 2023, be moved to Thursday March 23, 2023.
