1. Orders of the Day

1.1 The Procession and Commencement
A special meeting of City Council for its inaugural meeting was held at 7:30 p.m.
this date, chaired by Mayor B. Vrbanovic. Notice of this meeting had been
previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk pursuant to Chapter
25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code.
1.2 The Singing of our National Anthem
The meeting began with the singing of "O Canada" by KW Glee.
1.3 Land Acknowledgement and Indigenous Reflection
The Land Acknowledgement given by the Mayor. Clarence Cachagee, who
comes from the people of the Mushkegowuk, provided an Indigenous Reflection.
1.4 Invocations
The Mayor called upon Swami Chaitanya Jyoti Ji Maharaj or commonly known as
DiDiJi, Head Preacher of the Bramarishi Mission of Canada and Father Myroslaw
Tataryn, Pastor, Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration to provide
invocations.
1.5 The Mayor and Council's Declaration of Office
Honourable Madam Justice Jennifer Breithaupt Smith presided to complete the
Declarations of Elected Office of the Mayor and Members of Council.
1.6 Reflection
The Mayor welcome Father Toby Collins, Pastor, St. Mary's Parish to provide a
moment of reflection.
1.7 Musical Interlude
Wilfrid Laurier University's Beckett School at Laurier, played a musical interlude.
1.8 Reading of the Striking Committee
Moved by Councillor M. Johnston

"That Councillor P. Singh be appointed as the Grand River Hospital -
Board Trustee member for a 1 year term ending November 14, 2023."

The Mayor provided the inaugural address for the 2022-2026 term of Council.
