Overview
Mariah Blake from the City of Kitchener will provide a 30-minute training session to all
committee members.

2. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof

Overview
Committee members are to review the agenda and disclose if they have any conflicts of
interest with any items listed. If they do, they will be required to sit in the gallery during
that particular item and refrain from participating in any discussion or voting on said
item. They will also be required to fill out an online form following the meeting at:

5. Chair / Vice Chair Selection

Overview
The Chair of the Committee plays a leadership role, and is responsible for:
• formulating agendas with city staff;
• facilitating the meeting, ensuring all voices are heard, decorum is upheld and
procedures are followed;
• Representing the committee to City Council, the media or community
stakeholders, as requested.
The Vice-Chair provides support and fills the Chair role when the Chair is absent.
Expectations of Committee
Please consider volunteering in the role of chair or vice-chair, or be prepared to
nominate another committee member.
6. Rules of Engagement

Overview
Staff will provide an overview of the 2023 City Budget as it pertains to Active
Transportation.

9. Bloomberg Grant
From: Darren Kropf, City of Kitchener
Overview
Staff will provide an overview of a current grant opportunity. The Bloomberg Initiative for
Cycling Infrastructure is providing ten cities worldwide with grants of one million dollars
(US) for bold and transformative cycling infrastructure projects. City staff have been
working on the grant application, due at the end of January.

To pass a motion in support of the grant application.
10. Homework for February

Overview
The February meeting is expected to include several staff updates, and a presentation
on a strategy for equity enhancement for the Kitchener Cycling Network presented by a
group of citizens. No homework/ preparation is required. Meeting agenda is subject to
change.
