Committee Member Training From: Mariah Blake, Committee Administrator, City of Kitchener Overview Mariah Blake from the City of Kitchener will provide a 30-minute training session to all committee members. Expectations of Committee For information 2. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof From: Ivan J Balaban, City of Kitchener Overview Committee members are to review the agenda and disclose if they have any conflicts of interest with any items listed. If they do, they will be required to sit in the gallery during that particular item and refrain from participating in any discussion or voting on said item. They will also be required to fill out an online form following the meeting at: https-//www.kitchener.ca/en/council-and-city-administration/conflict-of-interest.aspx Expectations of Committee Individual members to disclose pecuniary interest if applicable 3. Icebreaker From: Ivan J Balaban, City of Kitchener Overview Each member will introduce themselves, note the general area / neighbourhood in which they reside (if comfortable doing so), and share their favourite place to walk or cycle in the City. Chair / Vice Chair Selection From: Ivan J Balaban, City of Kitchener Overview The Chair of the Committee plays a leadership role, and is responsible for: • formulating agendas with city staff; • facilitating the meeting, ensuring all voices are heard, decorum is upheld and procedures are followed; • Representing the committee to City Council, the media or community stakeholders, as requested. The Vice-Chair provides support and fills the Chair role when the Chair is absent. Subcommittee Update From: Ivan J Balaban, City of Kitchener Overview Staff will provide an update on the current subcommittees and any ongoing work, to familiarize new committee members and update returning members. City of Kitchener Budget From: Darren Kropf, City of Kitchener Overview Staff will provide an overview of the 2023 City Budget as it pertains to Active Transportation. Expectations of Committee For information. 9. Bloomberg Grant From: Darren Kropf, City of Kitchener Overview Staff will provide an overview of a current grant opportunity. The Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure is providing ten cities worldwide with grants of one million dollars (US) for bold and transformative cycling infrastructure projects. City staff have been working on the grant application, due at the end of January. Expectations of Committee To pass a motion in support of the grant application. 10. Homework for February From: Ivan J Balaban, City of Kitchener Overview The February meeting is expected to include several staff updates, and a presentation on a strategy for equity enhancement for the Kitchener Cycling Network presented by a group of citizens.
