Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof From: Ivan J Balaban, City of Kitchener Overview Committee members are to review the agenda and disclose if they have any conflicts of interest with any items listed. If they do, they will be required to sit in the gallery during that particular item and refrain from participating in any discussion or voting on said item. Upcoming Events and Co-op Student Introduction From: Darren Kropf, City of Kitchener Overview We’d like to introduce Allison Mills as the Active Transportation Marketing and Events Co-op Student for the summer! The opening event for the Iron Horse Trail Extension (formerly Delta street) will be on Friday June 2, 2023. Waterloo Region Police Services is hosting a bike event for kids on Saturday May 27, 2023. Events Subcommittee Presentation From: Events Subcommittee; Emily Bennett, Vicci Hand, Wanda West Kitchener Active Transportation and Trails Advisory Committee Overview The Events Subcommittee will present on the projects they have been working on to- date. Complete Streets Review – 2025 Locations From: Complete streets Subcommittee; Philip Charbonneau, Bart Forwell, Greg Piccini Overview The Complete Streets Subcommittee has met and reviewed the list of roadway reconstructions for 2025, with an eye to ensuring that the complete streets guidelines are implemented. All Committee Meeting - Debrief From: Chair Vicci Hand, Vice-Chair Matthew Bells Overview The All-Committee meeting was held last week. The meeting provides the chair and Vice-chair of each Advisory Committee in the city an opportunity to provide feedback on the Strategic Goals and Actions proposed for the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan. Vicci Hand and Matthew Bells attended, and will provide a debrief of the meeting. NOTE: This meeting is for Chairs and Vice-chairs only, however there will be a separate opportunity for full advisory committee members later in the year. Joint Spot Improvement Program (JSIP) - Tender From: Liz Christensen, city of Kitchener Overview The Parks and Cemeteries Department has been working with the Transportation Services Department to compile several small-scale “Spot Improvement” projects into a single tender. Ontario Bike Summit - Recap From: Vicci Hand, Chair Overview The Ontario Bike Summit was held in Hamilton Ontario on May 1 and May 2, 2023. Vicci Hand attended on behalf of the Committee and will present on some of the topics covered during the summit. Expectations of Committee For information. 8. Land Acknowledgement Discussion From: Jorg Broschek, Committee member Overview Jorg Broschek will present on a proposal to begin each ATTAC meeting with a land acknowledgement.
