MAYORAL DECISION NO. 2023 — DEC — 001
TO APPOINT THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
WHEREAS section 284.5 of the Municipal Act, 2001, R.S.0 2001 (the "Act") provides that the
powers under section 229, with respect to the appointment of a chief administrative officer,
are assigned to the head of council;
AND WHEREAS section 284.13 (1) of the Act and section 6 of O. Regulation 530/22 provides
that the head of council may delegate their powers and duties with respect to section 284.5
of the Act;
NOW THEREFORE 1, BERRY VRBANOVIC, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF KITCHENER,
HEREBY DELEGATE TO COUNCIL:
1. The powers listed under section 284.5 of the Act, to appoint the Chief Administrative
Officer, as set out in Chapter 115 (Corporate Leadership Team) of the City of Kitchener
Municipal Code, noting that this Chapter may be repealed and replaced or amended
from time to time by Council.
2. This decision shall come into force and effect on August 14, 2023 and shall remain in
effect until this delegation is modified or revoked in writing.
