November 1, 2023 CITY OF KITCHENER
The Compass Kitchener Advisory Committee met this date, commencing at 4:07 p.m.
Present: J. Stephens-Wells, Chair

1. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF—NIL
2. ALL ADVISORY COMMITTEES MEETING UPDATE
A. Remillard shared an update on the planning progress of the All Advisory Committees meeting
with Compass members.
3. STRATEGIC PLAN INDICATOR DEVELOPMENT—Continued from October
K. Dever a shared a slide deck on the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan Indicator Development
Approach with the Compass Kitchener group.
Compass Kitchener members discussed approach to brainstorming outcomes and indicators for
the Strategic Goal Area statements, from a resident perspective. T. Glover shared the'Outcome
Logic Model' —a visual, linear process that uses'if' and 'when' statements and noted this could
serve as a great communication tool for the City. The Outcome Logic Model asks what activity
is the City going to take on, that will lead to outputs (number of direct products) but also the
outcomes(benefits or changes for residents).
T. Glover led the group through the process using the first Strategic Goal Area, Building a
Connected City Together and they came up with several activities, outputs and outcomes ideas.
With an established process to come up with indicators, Compass Kitchener members agreed
to extend the December 8 Compass Kitchener meeting to 6:30pm to provide more time to
brainstorm the rest of the Strategic Goal Area statements.
4. OTHER BUSINESS
The minutes of the Compass Kitchener meeting held on October 4, 2023 were reviewed.
J. Stephens-Wells reminded the Compass group of The State of the City address on November
9, at 4:30pm at The Market and asked K. Dever to have A. Fritz-Walters re-send the invite to
Compass Kitchener members

The meeting adjourned at 5:30 pm.
