CARRIED,
Julie Dean referred the attached Safe City Co-ordinator's Update and indicated that she had
one change with regards to the Little Black Book. It was noted that the donation from the Boy
Scouts has only been reviewed by one committee and final approval must still be obtained
before the donation can be made.
After some discussion it was decided that the Little Black Book should be updated 2 times
each year.
Julie Dean circulated the attached brochure entitled "Community Development" City of
Kitchener Community Development Infrastructure Program (CDIP).
She explained that the Grant Program is run by the City of Kitchener to promote
Neighbourhood Community Development and noted that there are funds available of up to
$15,000.00. The brochure contains information on how to apply and where the application
should be submitted.
The Grant Program still has funding available for the current year. The committee that is in
charge of running the program has just decided to advertise the program in order to solicit
more applications. The committee will also be making a presentation to Finance and
Administration Committee and will be reviewing two of the projects that have been completed
through the Grant Program. It was noted that this program can not currently be used for any
Capital Projects. The brochure has also been circulated to Neighbourhood Associations for
their review.
Councillor Karen Taylor-Harrison explained that it was almost time again to submit
applications for Re-appointment to the Safe City Committee. She added that there are
currently vacancies on the committee and that if anyone new of someone who may be
interested in joining the committee they should contact Julie Dean. Applications for Re-
appointment were circulated to committee members.
Councillor Karen Taylor-Harrison introduced Jamie Austin to the committee. Jamie then
