HomeMy WebLinkAboutCompass Kitchener - 2024_10_02 COMPASS KITCHENER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES October 2, 2024 CITY OF KITCHENER The Compass Kitchener Advisory Committee met this date, commencing at 4:06 p.m. Present: J. Stephens-Wells, Chair A. Forstmanis, L. Trumper, K. Brabazon, L. Thompson, T. Glover, J. Young, W. Rahimi, L. Terry Staff: S. Sweazey — Senior Policy Advisor A. Remillard — Committee Administrator T. Donegani — Senior Planner J. Zunic— Senior Planner 1. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF — NIL 2. KITCHENER 2051 T. Donegani and J. Zunic provided a presentation on Kitchener 2051, the City of Kitchener's next official plan. The presentation provided background information on what an official plan is and how the project plan intends to engage with the community in developing the plan. At T. Donegani's and J. Zunic's request, members of Compass Kitchener provided input on how best to present an overview of the city's official plan and the current Kitchener 2051 official plan development process at the All-Advisory Committee Meeting for Chairs and Vice Chairs on November 6, 2024. Compass Kitchener members suggested that the project team include activities to facilitate meaningful discussions. 3. 2023-2026 STRATEGIC PLAN CITIZEN REPORT CARD Members of Compass Kitchener discussed and finalized decisions on the evaluation approach, rating, and process. It was confirmed that S. Sweazey would present the evaluation framework to CLT to receive feedback. This feedback will be returned to Compass Kitchener in January, with the intention that the new Compass Kitchener cohort will refine the criteria to ensure they can provide their input as well. 4. ALL ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHAIRS AND VICE CHAIRS MEETING Members of Compass Kitchener finalized the agenda and confirmed the vendor for catering. 5. OTHER BUSINESS As the next month will be the final one for the current committee cohort, members of Compass Kitchener decided to use their volunteer dollars for a celebration on November 13. S. Sweazey and A. Remillard will send out a poll to determine the preferred celebration venue. J Stephens-Wells reminded Compass Kitchener committee members that the application deadline for applications to the City's advisory committees has been extended to October 9, and encouraged committee members to reapply.
