1. Commencement
A hybrid meeting of the Economic Development Advisory Committee was held on
January 28, 2026. The meeting commenced at 11:05 a.m. and was chaired by
Joe Curto.

4. Discussion Items
4.1 Municipal Newcomer Strategy : Update on Economic Actions Items-
Olabukonla (Ola) Mise
O. Mise shared a presentation on the Municipal Newcomer Strategy
Development. The committee provided input and discussed various ways they
could help and provided recommendations. The Municipal Newcomer Strategy
report is scheduled to go to Council on March 9. Delegations are welcome.
4.2 Make It Kitchener 2.0 Refresh Updates & Discussion- Cory Bluhm & Brian
Bennett
September 2025 around the Make it Kitchener Strategy Refresh. C. Bluhm
provided a summary of Committees key points to date that would be shared with
Kitchener Council in Feb at the Strategy Session. The draft summary was
provided and the Committee provided a range of feedback and edits.
4.3 Regional Growth Discussion- Joe Curto
Discussion deferred to February's meeting.
4.4 Sector Roundtable
Discussion deferred to February's meeting.
