SPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES
APRIL 18, 2005
CITY OF KITCHENER
A special meeting of City Council was held at 5:15 p.m. this date, Chaired by Mayor C. Zehr and with
all members present except Councillors J. Gazzola and G. Lorentz
Notice of this special meeting had been previously given to all members of Council by the City Clerk
pursuant to Chapter 25 (Council Procedure) of the Municipal Code.
Moved by Councillor M. Galloway
Seconded by Councillor B. Vrbanovic
"That an in-camera meeting of City Council be held immediately following this special meeting to
consider a matter subject to solicitor-client privilege."
Carried.
Mayor C. Zehr advised that staff have requested Council's consideration of a matter which was not listed
on the special Council agenda, dealt with at the Development & Technical Services Committee meeting
held earlier this date regarding the draft Greater Golden Horseshoe Growth Plan.
Moved by Councillor C. Weylie
Seconded by Councillor J. Smola
"That pursuant to Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code (Council Procedure), the following matter
be added to the agenda of the special meeting of Council on April 18, 2005: endorsement of
Development & Technical Services Department report DTS-05-060 dated April 12, 2005,
recommending the City of Kitchener's response to the Draft Greater Golden Horseshoe
Growth Plan."
Carried with required 2/3 majority.
Moved by Councillor C. Weylie
Seconded by Councillor J. Smola
"That Development & Technical Services Department report DTS-05-060 be endorsed and
submitted to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal as the City of Kitchener response on
the draft Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe."
Carried.
Moved by Councillor B. Vrbanovic
Seconded by Councillor M. Galloway
"That leave be given the Mover and Seconder to introduce a by-law to confirm all actions and
proceedings of the Council and that the same be taken as read a first, second and third times, be
finally passed and numbered 2005-72 by the Clerk."
Carried.
On motion, the meeting adjourned at 5:17 p.m.
