Subject: Compass Kitchener Committee -Membership
RECOMMENDATION:
That Tamara McBride and Philip Awere-Gambrah be appointed to the Compass Kitchener
Committee for a term to expire November 30, 2006.
REPORT:
The terms of reference for Compass Kitchener Committee state that:
a) The Compass Kitchener Committee will be composed of no less than 8 members
and no more than 12 members and will seek to have diverse representation
reflective of the City's population and needs of the community.
Committee membership is currently down to 7 representatives. The Committee desires
additional members to support their mandate especially in light of the Environics project, and
has therefore undertaken the task of recruiting new members. Recruitment efforts will entail
looking for representation from specific sectors to adequately represent the community.
CONCLUSION:
Tamara McBride has an extensive background in the private and volunteer sectors and her
appointment is strongly endorsed. Philip Awere-Gambrah also has an extensive background in
the public, private and volunteer sectors and his appointment is strongly endorsed. Their
resumes have been circulated under separate cover.
