Subject: REQUEST TO OPERATE A REFRESHMENT STAND -
KINGSDALENEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION AT
WILSON PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Kingsdale Neighbourhood Association be granted permission to operate a refreshment
stand at Wilson Park from May to September, 2006 on weekday evenings and on the weekends
during sporting events being operated at these times, with the exception of the weekends of
June 3 & 4, June 10 & 11, June 17 & 18, July 29 & 30 and August 5 & 6, 2006 provided the
necessary licence, including Health and Fire approvals is obtained.
BACKGROUND:
Council policy requires that Council's permission must be obtained prior to any licence being
issued for the sale of food on city property.
REPORT:
Attached is a letter from N. Smith, Co-Chair, Kingsdale Neighbourhood Association, requesting
permission on behalf of the Neighbourhood Association to operate a concession stand at wilson
Park selling hot dogs, pop, freezies, etc. They would like to operate this stand on weekday
evenings and weekends during the sporting events operating at these times. This would be a
fundraising effort to support youth programming for the children this Association services.
Community Services has been notified of this request and are prepared to support it.
