Subject: APPEAL -HOT DOG CART LOCATION - 6 BRIDGE

RECOMMENDATION:
The Committee's direction is requested
BACKGROUND:
Chapter 586 (Refreshment Vehicles) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code requires a 200-
metre distance separation between a Refreshment Vehicle and a Place of Refreshment and a
400-metre distance separation between two Refreshment Vehicles. This requirement is for both
new and renewal applications.
REPORT:
Attached is a letter from Mr. Zbigniew Wilk requesting an appeal of the Manager of Licensing's
decision not to issue a licence for the operation of a hot dog cart at 6 Bridge Street West. He
has received permission from the operator of the business located at this address to be located
outside of his establishment on Friday and Saturday evenings after 11:00 p.m.
There are currently two Places of Refreshment within the distance separation. They have been
notified of this request.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None.
COMMUNICATIONS:
The two Places of Refreshment that are within the distance separation have been notified of this
request.
