CLUB FOR TRACHTENFEST
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to
the Concordia Club at 429 Ottawa Street South, on Saturday September 30, 2006, between the
hours of 6:00 PM to 1 AM on October 1, 2006.
BACKGROUND:
The Concordia Club is hosting their annual Trachtenfest event, a Bavarian Folk Dance display,
in the tent on the Club, on Saturday September 30, 2006. The entertainment will involve a live
band. As a result, the Club has approached the Corporate Services Department to obtain an
exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise).

the past several years. The impact on any adjacent residential area has been minimal at best.
The tent is located at the rear of the property, adjacent to the Highway 7l8 Expressway.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None identified at this time.
COMMUNICATIONS:
No Corporate Communications required.
CONCLUSION:
Based on the circumstances surrounding this event, the By-law Enforcement Division does not
object to this request for an exemption.
