Gosse, Director of Legislated Services/Deputy City Clerk Patricia Harris - Interim Manager of Licensing March 8, 2005 CRPS 05-052 REQUEST FROM RESURRECTION NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION TO OPERATE BBQ'S ON CITY PROPERTY - MAY 14, 2005 RECOMMENDATION: That the request of the Resurrection Neighbourhood Association to locate two barbeques on City property in Resurrection Park and at the intersection of Glasgow Street and Resurrection Drive, in connection with a commuity yard sale to be held on May 14, 2005 (rain date May 15, 2005) be approved, provided the necessary licence is obtained, including Fire and Health approvals. BACKGROUND: The City of Kitchener's Street Vendor's By-law directs that the operation of a Refreshment Vehicle on city property, other than those locations stipulated, is prohibited, except with the prior approval of Council. REPORT: Attached is a letter from Bryan Hastie, Resurrection Neighbourhood Association, requesting Council's permission to locate two barbecues on city property. The barbecues would be located in Resurrection Park and at the intersection of Glasgow Street and Resurrection Drive. This will be in connection with a community yard sale on May 14, with a rain date of May 15, 2005. Money raised will be used to fund their neighbourhood programs. This event was approved last year.
