RECOMMENDA TION
That tender T06-057, Lighting Poles and Luminaires, be awarded to Nedco Electric, Kitchener,
at their tendered price of $149,362.07, including P.S.T. and G.S.T.
BACKGROUND
This tender is to provide lighting for the Joseph Street, Francis Street and Gaukel Street
reconstruction projects.
REPORT
Tenders were requested from nine (9) potential bidders, advertised publicly in The Record, on
the City of Kitchener website and the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information
System. By the closing date of Thursday June 8th, 2006, six (6) tenders had been received.
The low bid from Heritage Castings & Ironworks, Mississauga did not meet specifications for an
octagonal component and was rejected. The second low bid from Gerrie Electric, Kitchener was
not compliant as they did not include specifications on the products being tendered and was
rejected. The alteruate bid from Guillevin Interuational, Kitchener also failed to include
specifications on their alteruate bid products and was rejected.
