TERMS OF REFERENCE - PUBLIC ART WORKING GROUP
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Terms of Reference for the Public Art Working Group attached to Corporate Services
Department report CRPS-05-031, dated February 16, 2005, be approved.
BACKGROUND:
In September 2004 Council approved the establishment of the Public Art Working Group; a
permanent sub-committee of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee. The Terms of Reference
were to come forward for consider in late 2004, but it was decided to wait until the working
group was established so it could comment on the terms.
REPORT:
The Public Art Working Group (PAWG) will assist the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee
(ACAC) by administering the Corporate Public Art program. The terms sets out the groups
mandate, composition and responsibilities. The Working Group will be established by ACAC
and report to Council through that Committee. The term of the Group will run concurrent with the
term of ACAC and the names of the members will be tracked for recognition purposes by the
Office of the City of Clerk the same as other members of the various advisory committees.
The proposed Terms of Reference were developed by PAWG with support from Staff and have
been endorsed by the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee.
