BACKGROUND:
Attached is a letter from Linda Homeniuk, Vice President of Homeniuk Rides Incorporated
requesting permission to operate a midway at 245 Strasburg Rd in the Zellers parking lot. The
Midway is to be restricted to the west side of the parking lot. This is the first request by
Homeniuk Rides for this location.
REPORT:
In the letter from Ms. Homeniuk, it is being requested that permission be granted to operate a
midway during the following times, June 1 to June 5, 2005 and with the following condition with
respect to the music being played:

This is the first time that a midway has been held at this site. The Zellers store is located in the
Laurentian Power Centre. There is a Fire Department across the street. There are several
residential apartments and homes in the area. Property owners were notified within 120 metres
of 245 Strasburg Rd. Although we have not received any comments from the residents in the
area regarding this event, Council has required midways in the same area to turn the music off
at 8:00 p.m. on the evenings preceding school days and to turn the music down at 8:00 p.m. on
all other nights. It should be noted that Ms. Homeniuk's request does not comply wih this.
As directed in the by-law, the Regional Health Unit and the City's Traffic Division have both
been advised of this request.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
COMMUNICATIONS:
Property owners within 120 metres of the proposed midway have been notified.
