BACKGROUND: By-law 2004-258 requires a 200-metre distance separation between a Refreshment Vehicle and a Place of Refreshment and a 400-metre dstance separation between two Refreshment Vehicles. This requirement is for both new and renewal applications. REPORT: Attached is a letter from Nisar Jafferi requesting an appeal of the Manager of Licensing's decision not to issue a licence for the operation of a hot dog cart at the above address. He has received permission from the owner of 640 Queen Street South to be located outside of his variety store. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: There is currently one refreshment vehicle within the distance separation. They have been notified of this request None COMMUNICATIONS: The refreshment vehicle that is within the distance separation has been notified of this request.
