REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO SELL REFRESHMENTS
IN VICTORIA PARK - MAY 29,2005 - WORLD
PARTNERSHIP WALK
RECOMMENDATION:
That the request of the World Partnership walk to sell refreshments in Victoria Park on May 29,
2005 be approved, provided the necessary licence is obtained, including Health and Fire
approvals.
BACKGROUND:
Council policy requires Council's approval prior to a licence being issued to allow sales of
refreshments to take place on City property.
REPORT:
Attached is a letter from Imtiaz Bhatia, Logistics Co-ordinator of the World Partnership Walk,
requesting permission to sell refreshments during the walk. The proceeds from the sale of
refreshments will be used to offset the expenses related to the walk. This will be the 2151
Anniversary of the walk and the money raised through the walk will be used to support projects
aimed at self-sustainability in Asia and Africa.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
A similar request has been approved the past several years.
