EXEMPTION TO CHAPTER 450 (NOISE) - 42 PINEDALE
DRIVE
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to
Inte and Tracey Khan for a wedding reception at 42 Pinedale Drive on Saturday July 30
between the hours of 6 P.M. and 10 P.M.
BACKGROUND:
An exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) has been received from Mr. Inte Khan on behalf of his
parents to who reside at 42 Pinedale Drive. The request relates to a wedding reception that is
to be held at this residence on the evening of Saturday July 30, 2005. They are anticipating
having a steel band perform for a couple of hours during the evening. A copy of their request is
attached.
REPORT:
The Khan family anticipates that the function outside, including the band will last until
approximately 10 P .M.. In addition, they will undertake to advise the neighbourhood of the
event. It is likely that the music will be heard in the neighbourhood. However, given that the
event is on a Saturday night and will be over by 10 P.M., the adverse impact is anticipated to be
minimal.
The By-law Enforcement Division has no history of noise concerns at this address.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None identified at this time.
COMMUNICATIONS:
No Corporate Communications required.
CONCLUSION:
Based on the circumstances surrounding this event, the By-law Enforcement Division does not
object to this request for an exemption.
