BACKGROUND
Huron Natural Area (HNA) is the largest natural park in the City of Kitchener. Located in the

one of the most valuable natural areas in the City because of the richness and diversity of
ecologies and opportunities for environmental education on site.
The 2001 Huron Natural Area Master plan indicated that the works through the superbuild
funding were a priority and included the development of a main access point off Trillium Drive
with a parking lot, bus drop-off, washroom & shelter facility with green roof, entry courtyard
with benches & tables, walkways & trails, signage & interpretative education walls and
landscaping.
