RECOMMENDA TION
That tender T07 -043, Pool Chemicals (Co-Operative), be awarded to Acapulco Pools Limited,
Kitchener, Ontario at their tendered price of $87,143.07 including G.S.T. & P.S.T., for one year,
with the option to renew for a further two (2) one-year terms.
BACKGROUND
The City of Kitchener was the lead agency issuing the Tender on behalf of the Cooperative
Purchasing Group of Waterloo Region (CPGWR). The intent of this tender is to establish a
contract with a vendor for the provision of pool chemicals.
There are six (6) member agencies of the CPGWR who participate on this contract:
City of Kitchener
City of Waterloo
University of Waterloo
Wilfrid Laurier University
Township of Wilmot
Township ofWoolwich
The tendered price includes combined purchases by the CPGWR. The City of Kitchener's
estimated usage over a one-year period represents $67,189.51, including taxes, of the contract
prIce.
REPORT
Tenders were advertised publicly in The Record, the City of Kitchener website and on the
Internet through the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information System. Six (6)
potential bidders picked up tender documents, and by the closing date of Thursday April 19th,
2007, two (2) tenders had been received.

The tenders were reviewed by E. Dent, Supervisor Facilities Management, L. Stecho, Supervisor
of Purchasing and Participating Agencies of the Co-Operative Purchasing Group of Waterloo
Region, who concur with the above recommendation.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Funding will be provided from various City indices.
