As part of this process, it was agreed to in principle, with the understanding that this is a test case design, to locate the school bus loading zone within the boulevard as an alternative to the drop-off directly in front of the school on the street. Therefore, the City sidewalk will be located on private property. This area will be designated and signed for the exclusive use of school buses and charter buses and is not intended for parents dropping off children. The sidewalk extends approximately 55m along the Commonwealth Cres. frontage to a depth of approximately 2m. The location is set out on the attached drawing. It is necessary to enter into an encroachment agreement with the owner of 760 Commonwealth Cres. in order for the City to legalize its proposed sidewalk. -2- FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The appropriate staff has reviewed this request and has no concerns with entering into an encroachment agreement with the property owner of 760 Commonwealth Cres. for the purposes of legalizing the portion of the City sidewalk on private property.
