EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: At its meeting of February 19, 2007, City Council ratified a public consultation process for the Centre Block redevelopment project. The June 25th meeting of City Council is the launch of the public consultations on Andrin Limit's proposal to redevelop Centre Block. The public consultations will run from June 25 until 5 pm on August 3. Anyone living or working in Kitchener can participate in the consultation process. To ensure that we receive only one set of comments from each individual, comments will only be considered by the Centre Block Evaluation Committee if they include a name and address. That information will not be shared with anyone. To encourage as many people as possible to participate in the consultations, the City has set up seven different ways for them to get involved and provide their feedback on Andrin's proposal to redevelop Centre Block. Once the public consultation process is complete, all of the feedback received from the public will be compiled and provided to the Centre Block Evaluation Committee as part of their evaluation of Andrin's detailed proposal. Using the public feedback as an important piece of information, the Centre Block Evaluation Committee will then review Andrin's proposal based on the detailed scoring criteria outlined in the City's Request For Proposals before making a recommendation to City Council on whether or not to proceed with the proposal.
