Larry Gordon Date of Report 2007-08-16 Report No. FIN 07-091 FIN: 07-091 :-19 Subject: E07 -041— Consultant Services — Bridgeport Community Centre Business Case That Expression of Interest E07-041, Consultant Services — Bridgeport Community Centre Business Case, be awarded to Monteith Brown Planning Consultants, London, Ontario at their estimated fee of $39,498.52, including disbursements of $2,125. and G.S.T., based on a satisfactory contract being negotiated. The City of Kitchener requires the completion of a business case for the short and long term facility expansion needs for the Bridgeport Community Centre. The intent of this project is to undertake community, agency and stakeholder consultations and identify the best size and configuration of the Bridgeport Community Centre, along with the associated capital and operating costs. I :0 In accordance with Chapter 170 of the Municipal Code pertaining to the Selection of Professional Services/Consultants, a Consultant's Review Committee was established consisting of M. Hildebrand, Interim Director Community Programs and Services, J. Cote, District Facilitator, L. Mann, Project Development Advisor, L. Hayward, President Bridgeport Community Association, B. Quickfall, Bridgeport Community Association Representative, T. Barrett, Bridgeport Community Association Representative, H. Szymkiw, Community Member, and L. Gordon, Director of Purchasing. Expressions of interest were requested from three (3) potential consulting firms, advertised publicly on the City of Kitchener website and on the Internet through the Ontario Public Buyers Association Electronic Tendering Information System. By the closing date of Wednesday May 9th, 2007, two (2) responses had been received. The expressions of interest were rated and the Review Committee selected Monteith Brown Planning Consultants for a further interview. The Review Committee met on Tuesday July 17th, 2007 to interview the shortlisted candidate. The Committee elected to award the project to Monteith Brown Planning Consultants, London, Ontario. A listing of the responding parties follows for your reference.
