Subject: E07-008 - Prequalification of Roofing Contractors
RECOMMENDATION
That Expression of Interest E07-008, Prequalification of Roofing Contractors, be awarded to the
following Companies:
Watertight Roofing Services Limited Kitchener, ON
Roque Roofing Inc. Hamilton, ON
Atlantic Roofers Ontario Ltd. Hamilton, ON
Flynn Canada Ltd. Cambridge, ON
Nedlaw Roofing Limited Breslau, ON
Atlas-Apex Roofing Inc. Toronto, ON
Semple-Goofier Roofing Limited Toronto, ON
BACKGROUND
Further to Council's approval of June 26th, 2007, a prequalification process was Initiated to select
seven roofing contractors to be used on City projects for a period of three years, with an option
to renew for an additional two (2) one-year periods.
REPORT
In accordance with Chapter 170 of the 1Vlunicipal Code pertaining to the Prequalification of
Contractors, expressions of interest were advertised in The Record, on the City of Kitchener
Home Page and on the Internet thorough the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering
Information System relative to this project. Documents were picked up by sixteen (16)
interested parties. By the closing date of Friday September 21St 2007, thirteen (13) responses had
been received. The submissions were forwarded to Peto 1VIacCallum Limited, Kitchener, the
City's Consultants for the project, for review and prequalificationratIng. A shortlist of seven (7)
General Contractors was selected.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
There are no financial implications to the prequalification process. Tenders will be selected from
all seven prequalified firms for projects as they arise.
